I just looked up approx. where Morris Mtn is, and I am deffinately out if it's there. It will take me at least 3 hours just to get to the exit. If everyone decides to go somewhere closer to where I am, then I'm going to try to go. I'll keep an eye on this thread.

I think that we may have to try for another weekend. I want a group of at least 5 people (excluding passengers) and I think that it came too short of notice. So start looking at your calendars and let me know when you are available.

A bunch of us from Rubicon Owners Forum will be at Tellico and wheeling the 28th, 29th and 30th. I'll be at Crawfords Camp along with a few others, some are staying on the TN side and another large group is at Tellico Cabin Rentals. More about it is posted in the ROF Forum "East of the Mississippi". If interested I can get you more info.

I'm all up for hitting Tellico, but I don't want to be the smallest Jeep there. Give us some more info on the trip that weekend please.

Hey wjb4000. If your profile is up to date you may want to sit this ride out. 31" tires and no lift would really limit your trail selection at Tellico. I'm not saying not to go because Tellico is a blast, but it wouldn't be fair to ask you to hang with a group that is going to be set-up a little more than your current set-up. I'd recommend a minimum of 3" lift and some good AT or MT tires, disconnects, a winch (comes in handy) and stick to trails 1, 3, 4, 5, 6.

+2
I took my last 4x4 up there with full skids, rear locker, etc with ~31" tires and it was rough even on the 'easy' trails. Tellico is the goal, not the starting point

Yeah, I know how rough it is. I go up there frequently. I deffinately wouldn't be able to stick with anyone that is planning on doing anything more than the "easy stuff". I do stick with the easy trails and don't have a problem. Obviously a locker, lift and tires would help, but the easy trails are fun enough for me with the set up I have now. I was actually going to try and head up today, but obviously I did not. Anyway, I'm hoping Santa will bring me some stuff for my Jeep this year so I can go up there and hit some other trails in the Jeep. I may go up next weekend on the yamaha and take pictures and video of everyone, we'll see.

Georgia Crawlers has a free ride on the 29th.. everyone is allowed to hang with us. We have xj's on 31's and 32's Tj's on 33s and 35s ... should have a group of about 8 people.. We might hang with GATR guys as well. Theres gona be alot of people out there.. 31s can do easier trails like 4 and 5 and even 6 and 8, so those of you out there on 31s, come as well.
Go to www.georgiacrawlers.com and click on free rides.

I am not too sure if I am going to make this one. I really want to get in my last weekend of hunting.

Hey BigJerm: I'm sure we'll be crossing pathes up there. Where is your group staying? We're usually on Channel 4. About half the group is on 32-33's and the other half 35's. P.S. Did you get that solenoid from Mile Marker?

there is a small group camping friday night at Stateline and might do a small night ride up T5, T4, and up to the ledge on T8. Saturday morning we are meeting at the gravel pile at the intersection of T1 and T5 at 8:00 A.m. and leaving at 8:30 A.m. sharp. We will be on channel 7 or 10. 1 of our guys has a scanner so he can monitor both channels. Plan is to hit SlickRock first then come around and do Guard Rail, Helicopter and come down Pinch Rock. We figure with large number of rigs that are going to be there this weekend that will take a day.

Some of us are on 31-32" tires but most are on 35". I think I am one of the only ones not locked, just factory LSD for now.

Didnt see your last part. I got another solenoid, its fried, so then sent me a completely new winch, i believe its the SI9500 with a completely sealed solenoid that should be sitting on my front door step when i get off work today. Better believe im gonna test this thing before Tellico this weekend

Yeah the trails are gona be PACKED! to say the least. With the whole Tellico Closure thing going on, everyones gona want to hit the trails for the last time this year. Lets hope they dont close any trails at tellico after they reopen the park.
Some of our group is camping, some are just coming up for a day or so.
But like you said. Expect a good days worth of trail riding.
