Moving to Simpsonville, looking forward to meeting some Jeepers!

Greetings! It looks like I'll be moving to Simpsonville at the end of August. I know all of two people who live there, so I'm looking forward to meeting some people up there. There's no real sense of camaraderie in S Florida for anything so hopefully I can meet up with some of you guys up there. My current Jeep is not one for offroading, that one will come when money comes, but I still love wrenching and such. This is my XJ now:

I'm in a rush to get it in one piece before I try to move it in less than two months now. I had a stroker wear out some cam bearings so it's being rebuilt now. Are there any Jeep clubs (or just car clubs in general) or is it more like just make friends with other Jeepers you meet? Looking forward to being up there!

I'm live in Fountain Inn, I'm about 10 mins from simpsonville. Look up Club Upstate 4x4 SC. They get together a good bit for wheeling and club meetings. Once my jeep is finished this week I'll be riding with them and you are welcome to join us.

Never heard of that club but there is the Appalachin (?) Jeep Trail Runners. Great group of guys that get together and ride once a month as well!

Welcome to the area... well, soon!

You need to go to the Further show at Heritage Park in Simpsonville on the 29th. Look it up.

Well I finally made it here. I was able to fire up my engine a week before I left, so that was good. I dont have any working dash gauges so I'm holding off breaking it in and driving it until I can sort that out.

For future reference - are there any good local junkyards around?

Definitely.... I like LKQ. Lots of XJ's too... Holiday weekends are sometimes 50% off too... Might be in luck this weekend.

Good to know....

Does anyone know any good nearby hikes or walking trails? We still don't have jobs so I don't want to drive really far just to get outdoors.

I live in Greenville. Have a 77 cj that I'm working. We use to have a club but no longer I'm also looking for one. Hiking trail at Paris mountain is pretty good. Welcome to the area.

Just went there yesterday actually, nice park. Do you need an extra wrenching hand?
