Headed to the Gulches

A group of us are from south Florida are leaving the swamp and headed to the Gulches for some fun on September 8th. Anyone have some "you gotta check this out" suggestions while we are up in that area? From restaurants to sight seeing, I would lke to hear anything you might have. Thanks.

An hour away is downtown Greenville with over 50 really nice bars and restaurants, coffee bars and great shops. It is a very safe walking downtown with beautiful tree lined streets and treatments. Yet it is not one of those monster downtowns where it is hard to find areas with what you are looking for or cheap or free parking. Just park at one end and follow the brass mice. There are 8 small brass mice conspicuously hidden along Main Street. By the time you find them all you have covered downtown. You also need to walk the bridge over the Reedy River. If you spit in the river from the bridge by the time you get back to the park it will be floating past your campsite. Simpsonville about 30 minutes away has all the great chain restaurants. Not much in Laurens or Clinton. But I'll be there to give directions for what ever you need. Looking forward to seeing you folks.
