Any tips for a first timer at Gulches?

So we've got a weekend camping trip planned to Gulches in late April. This will my first visit. Obviously we've got food, water, shelter, tools and recovery gear etc. but I was wondering if anybody had any tips, advice or insight to make for a more enjoyable experience.

I know Skip is a member here too so please feel free to chime in.

Thanks!
