If you end up coming down you can take 17 all the way down or 53 to I-40 ...
Once you get into Wilmington you take s college rd (rt 132) to Carolina Beach Rd (rt421) all the way down to Freeman Park

do they allow you to drive on carolina beach? kinda looking to find a closer place than OBX

They allow you to drive and camp on the the north end of Carolina Beach (Freeman Park) .... Its $10 for a day pass or $40 for a seasonal pass

and if you advertise a gathering of any kind to be held on carolina beach you need a permit or their will be 5-6 police vehicles at the campsite giving you the choice to either pack it up and leave or to get cited and arrested for tresspassing after that.

DOH!

so... lesson learned... don't hand out flyers @ school that you are having a big campout/cookout with lots of PJ, beer, and music....

yeah totally, i was so ticked about that, i was there btw erik, we didnt get to meet, i pulled up with jake, and john, i was in my wrangler, and my bro was in the red cherokee w/ all the lights, then we had that convoy down the beach to pick people up, but i had to take some one home, back to uncw, and i was on the way back and got a call from my bro that the cops busted it up,

i was hoping to get a group to go down friday afternoon/evening to hang out and like have a cook out and stuff, i think john is gonna go and probably jake, what you think?

oh and your jeep sounds awesome for a 4 banger!

haha did you come all the way from CH for that or are you here for school?

I'd be down for friday night... aside from the $20 it costs in fuel for me to get there and back it would no doubt be cheaper than going to the beach bars or downtown, haha. send me a pm if you get a group of folks to go....

I have to sort out a bit of death wobble i've been getting before i head out there... but hopefully it'll be as simple as tightening up my wheel bearings or steering box or something. ugh. it never ends....

well i was talking w/ john and it turns out him and jake cant friday night, but maybe saturday, i dont know ill send you a message on facebook or a pm here
i went out to sutton lake for the first time two days ago but i was watching john drive around and shut off our cherokee and it wouldnt start bak up because the battery died! so he towed us backwards all the way to the fire station for jumper cables
but i actually just got back from going out there again this evening and had a blast, i took my wrangler this time and drove around on all the dunes and was messing around in 2wd and john buried his rubi to the bumper in 2wd then tried to pull out in 4wd and it just sunk completely in and i had to yank him out, it was a blast

OK....... tomorrow (sunday the 26th of august) me and a few other guys are going off of river road..... trying to go because they are soon to start clearing the way for a new development..... don't know how much longer it will be there..... if anybody wants to go, we are meeting up at the arbys in monkey junction (in front of walmart at the intersection of college and carolina beach rd.) at 2PM. gonna eat and wheel....... would love to see some of ya'll out there!!!! PM me if your coming so we can wait!
