just called and spoke with them, the national park will close due to the government shutout. but if they do end up closing it wont be until monday, all trails and the park facilities will be open this weekend.

I am on the trails and the host at the campsite said they will NOT close the trails. Guess we shall see but they are open now.

Got a voicemail from Arrowhead/US Gov reservations system. It said they will be open through Sunday but not sure beyond that. I am heading out to Uwharrie now!
