Planning, yes. Shipping the LJ out and drive it back if everything works out between now and then.

I had already been planning a Rubicon trip for 2014, so I'm in. If anyone is interested in doing a weekend of Moab on the way there or back I'm down for that too. The best weekend to be in Moab is Labor Day weekend, the end of August, but anytime your in Moab is a great time.

I'm curious if the trail hopping will be trailer friendly? In other words do the trails start and stop in the same place or near enough to retrieve the tow rig and trailer to go on to the next trail?

It would be good to have a solid(ish) list of trails and towns near to get hotel reservations lined out, camping is fine for some, and multi-day trails of course camping is great, but I like showers after a day of dirt and trails and so does the wife.

Subscribing.

I'm guessing it would be wise to not schedule it the same time as Jeep Jamboree in Aug.

I'm happy to invite myself if there's room. Always up for a Rubicon trip.

Oh man. Depending on another 5-6 month trip I'm planning for February, I'll be there. It'd be great to meet up with you all and get the Jeep to MOAB and Rubi in one trip.

If Y'all head out that way try to include the Shaverlake area, is a lil further south but well worth it. The Dusy and Swamp lake are well worth the trip

Cannot beat views like this with some great wheelin in remote wilderness

Definitely going to be watching this. I doubt I'll be able to join in for the whole trip. If you guys stop in Moab I'm pretty much in for that so long as I'm not deployed or anything by then.

Fordyce is much harder. That's a rough trail to do on a long road trip and have to drive home as alot can get bent up or go wrong. I mean Rubicon is paved compared, made for the kids and pull a trailer today. I was lucky enough to one have grown up in Tahoe. Did the Rubicon in 012 before they removed the main obsticals, though I bypassed it anyway, no body armor. Few tried that unless they were on a trailer or locals. The blsted and filled it, just check the You tubs on this. no more gate keeper, no more little sluice, i has told they filled old big sluice were people tended to hit the front right fender. But its still very fun and hard to beat the views, well Dusy and that area is BIG trees and walls of stone.

I might be in for a Rubicon to Fordyce run. One of the clubs I am in did that this year and the Dusy in one trip. The Trifecta of Grand poopa trails. Rubicon to Fordyce then south, south to fresno and run the 33miles of Rubicon like but its more like Yosemite wheeling Just stunning Views of Domes and trees rocks and trees and more trees and rock, lakes.

I would be into that do the three best of in one trip. make this no breaks you should get a decal. be like the west coast gauntlet.

Just a heads up tip the Dusy is not open all year and no sooner can it open than Aug. 1st so to be sure it is open on a long trip. it closes end of Oct. Its freeking colder than h3ll up there in later summer at 10,000 feet..

So I may well be a go on this as well.

Do all three

I'm going to see if I'm out of tech school by then, if so, I'll look into going. Hell, maybe I'll get stationed near there.
