Tj Piedmont Triad Area and Uwharrie Questions

Hey y'all. I go to university in the Piedmont Triad an I've got my Jeep here. Lookin for places to go in the Triad, anyone know of some spots? Also, I really want to go to Uwharrie but I'm so far from home that if I break something, I can't fix it. I was wondering what the easy trails were like at Uwharrie and how y'all might think I'd do? I've got a TJ with a 2.5" lift, 32's and some other things. No lockers though. Thanks very much.

Hey man,
I'm in Greensboro and go to UNCG. I took my TJ with a 2 inch BB on 31's a couple of weeks ago to Uwharrie and did every trail except Daniel, and I even did the first part of it before a friend wanted to turn around. Go and have fun, your Jeep will be able to do a lot more a lot easier than you could ever expect. At least thats how it was for me, and from what I've heard, everyone else too. I had a blast and will be going back December 10th if you want to go.

Matt

Nice. I'm at High Point University. You break anything while you were there? That's what I'm most worried about. I'd probably limit myself to the easiest trails and not push it. I'd love to go but our final exams start on the 9th and I've got an exam that Saturday. Don't think that'd be the best weekend for me. I'm definitely gonna be goin in the spring though. Been going to school here for three years and never made it to Uwharrie, figure now's the time.

Cool man. Nah I didn't break a thing. Had a blast and learned a lot about how the Jeep works and handles. The only thing broken that day was my friends Jeep. He has a 4 inch lift on 33's with the stock sway bar links, so he snapped those by flexing as much as he could. But that was dumb on both his part and the place that installed the lift. His sway bar was facing almost straight down in order to connect to the stock links, so it was just a matter of time anyways. I think our exams start the tuesday before so I'm hoping I'll be done by then and can have fun.

Don't feel bad about it taking a while to go, I've had my Jeep for a little over a year and I've been talking about going to Uwharrie since February and just finally made it this month.

haha I've made the same mistake with the sway bar links. Finally invested in some quick disconnects. But yeah wheeling does make you learn a heck of a lot real fast. I've gone through two axle seals, a drive shaft, and some other things I can't think of lol. I wish I could stay after exams though but I gotta drive home on the 16th after they're finished. Whatever though, I'll just have to head down there in the spring.

I got the same problem. I go to UNC Charlotte and I'm worried I'm gonna break something out on the trail and I wont have anything to drive and I dont have the money to pay for it. I can't wait to get to Uwharrie though for the first time.

I took my completely stock TJ on all the trails except Daniel when it was stock. You can even to Rocky mount, just take all the bypasses. You stock or near stock jeeps are really more capable than you can imagine. The 3 roughest trails (and by roughest I don't mean "hard" by any means) is Daniel (of course), Rocky Mount, and Dickey bell. And with that, Dickey bell has only 1 spot that would be considered difficult. Oh, its NOT difficult, I took my stock Jeep up it. Go with friends, you'll be kicking yourself all day for waiting so long to go.
