Hurricane Creek question

I went to see my brother in TN a few weeks ago and noticed a sign RIGHT off I-40 that got me thinking, it was Hurricane creek rd. I am heading back out to my brothers this weekend and wanted to know if the following route is worth the extra hour or so of distraction from the boring highway driving:

Take exit 15 (Fines Creek) Fines Creek Road to to Wesley Creek Rd, then take a left where Hurricane Creek (Nat'l Forest Rd) T-bones into Max Patch Rd.

Then when I get down to I-40, head on to my brother's with a smile on my face.

Common sense is surprisingly, not that common.

It is a fun trail to ride, but its more fun driving up from the interstate. I think coming down it is alot easier though. You might consider driving up all the way to max patch then turn left & drive back down to harmons den road & jump on 40 west. Post up what day & time your going, may join ya.

I'm flyin' by Google Earth here, and I see Harmen's Den Rd, but its on the south side of I-40... Is it the same thing as Cold Springs Creek Rd? I'm good with going that way.

I should be near there about 1030 hrs Saturday morning - I'll have the wife with me, so better make it 1100 hrs.

Yeah, cold springs rd is the road from exit 7 up to max patch road. Its all dirt if you take that road, but if you go to wesley branch off of max patch then it will be paved. It will take longer to do the harmons den/cold springs way.

Sounds good to me! I'll be there Saturday, the 11th (this Saturday) ~ 1100 hrs. I'll have my CB on channel 4. Handle is... you guessed it, "Igrok". Pronounced Eye-grock

It was snowy! I-40 was crazy, we saw 2 accidents on the east bound side. A car behind us about slid into us when we slowed down to turn off on to Hurricane Creed Rd (Even though we had our blinker on and started slowing down way before we needed to) here are some pics I took:

We made a trip up there on 1-8-11, was the deepest snow i've ever been in. Started the trail around 9:30 am & didnt hit pavement till 9:00 pm. What a day! I have pics of us going thru 3ft+ snow drifts.

Hey guys, I was enjoying the day on Thursday in the Miata w/ the top down in the southwest corner, around Franklin and Hayesville and I saw a TON of trails in the Nantahala Forest - particularly on 64 between Franklin and Hayesville. Does anyone know anything about them?

There are supposedly some good trails in that area. If you find anything out let everyone know or shoot me a pm and we can set up a ride.
