How are the trails up there? I only live about an hour from there, but have never been. A buddy and I have been talking about going, but just haven't made the trip. Main reason, mine is still stock, and haven't gotten brave enough to take it out too much yet lol. Do they have some fairly moderate trails, or is it pretty hardcore?

Brown Mountain isn't even worth the trip from what I hear. Just gravel roads. We used to ride horses up there all the time and there isn't much as far as ORV. Some ATV trails but that's about it.

Brown mountain is a joke for 4wd trucks/SUVs. Find somewhere else or you'll be pissed you even went. TRUST ME!

Exactly.

ARdirty, you're in Charlotte. Just go to Uwharrie. It's as good as you're going to get in the area.

A trail and 1/4. Did you just run them over and over? How were you not done in like 20 min?

We ran each trail once. They are very long. We were there for several hours. When was the last time you took your Jeep there?

I haven't, which is why I said I've heard. Many, many people have said it is a waste of time. We rode horses up there a lot.

Also if you drive about 10 minutes past Brown Mtn you can run another trail. It is the one we run all the time and it is free.

I prefer to experience it and make my own judgements instead of going by what others say. I encourage the OP to do the same.

Typically most people have a reason for saying one thing for another. If a lot of people say a trail sucks, that doesn't make me want to find out by myself. Just trying to show you where I am coming from.

I's not too far from my Harmony house, so maybe we'll head over there one day and see what it's about.

I understand. Ever since we lost Tellico and Callantee these are the two places we go. I would disagree with the people that say Brown Mtn sucked, it certainly isn't as good as Uwharrie but it is an off road park and thus I enjoy it. Richland Rd is just as good as Uwharrie imo, and it is free and right by Brown Mtn. Two long trails for the price of one is worth it for me.
