Beach Driving

Going to Surf City next week. Does anyone know of a place near here that I can drive on the beach. I just want 1 pic of my jeep on the beach.

Anybody correct me if im wrong but i believe the closest beach would be Carolina Beach, "Freeman Park or Fort Fisher" There is a daily fee to drive on the beach or you can buy a yearly pass, but i dont know the cost, i will figure that out this week because i leave tomorrow to go down there for a week!

Cost is $20 per day and right now it is $100 for year pass. If you plan on going more than 5 times get a year pass. Freeman park is great I go down there almost every weekend I have free. I have 3 kids and they love it!

Fort Fisher is $12 per day and $50 for the year, went down last week and enjoyed the beach.

Carolina is your best bet, especially if you want to camp out. I think Fort Fisher is still day time only.

I might be there Friday morning. Im driving down to Myrtle Beach for a concert at the House of Blues and might make a detour to Carolina Beach for some Brits Donuts.

I guess you can camp there also? Just pitch a tent or what? And do you know if there is any place to shower around there?

You can camp on the beach, pitch a tent or whatever ...no designated sites, just squeeze in wherever. Showers are at some of the beach access parking lots on the way to Freeman park.....outside!

I'll be down that way from July 8-14th. Staying with the family in Topsail but definitely looking to do some beach driving.

I saw some college kids make that mistake one year with a brand new Land Rover......I tried to warn them but them didn't listen.

I'm out at Ocracoke right now... and was surprised to learn that beach driving is no longer free. It's $50 for a week pass... and $120 for a calendar-year pass. They're selling a ton, though...
