Beach access around Nags Head?

We are in the process of trying to plan for a family vacation this summer and we are looking at the Nags Head area "never been there." Before I commit to this area, I want to make sure that there is beach access to carry the TJ out. Can anyone let me know if there is access available?

take a left coming from manteo, once your own #12.
Ride #12 to corolla, the road literally turns into the beach, you can ride to the VA border..
Or either take a right down #12 once you cross over, and a little ways down on the left theres a camping place and beach access called Oregon inlet...
Remember to air down.
