threeb and lilcsaw,
I live in Haw Creek in East Asheville. Where do you go to 4 wheel? Have you been up to Couch Mtn? We just got a 1997 Jeep Cherokee Sport XJ. It is not running at the moment but hope to have it fixed shortly. Do either of you know much about engines? I am no mechanic by no means and need a lot of help. I put on a brand new battery, starter/solenoid and new engine coil. I checked all fuses and all seem good. The starter relay under the dash is clicking when turning the ignition. We are trying to take off the neutral safety switch to clean and see if that's the problem. I am not sure where to go from here. What would you do next? Maybe we all could get up and hit the woods soon!

I'm over near exit 59. I am not sure about the starting issue check all of the power and ground wires. The grounds are over looked a lot. Have you tried the banging the starter with a hammer?

Just got it to turn over. I am so damn happy! But now trying to see why it is not staying running. I'm right around the corner from you! I am near the Tunnel Road fire department/ East Asheville Library.

We are trying to get back out to rough butt its near WCU in syliva. Shout at me when you get ready to go again and I'll give you a shout when we get a chance. Between kids activities and daily schedules it seems like the trips get farther apart.

I went by a friends house this afternoon. He is across from the Wacovia. I thought over there is a dude wrenching on a jeep somewhere.

My husband and I worked on it till it was to dark to see. We changed the fuel pump and it is so close to starting! I have a friend that lives near there David, would this be the same friend?

Have either of you been to Couch Mountain? We used to go when we were in high school (I know that was a while ago..........) but was wanting to hit that again. We went to a place out if Fletcher a couple Sunday's ago. I wish Tellico was still open!
As soon as we can get this Jeep running we would love to hit the trails with both of ya!

Not David. I have been to couch mtn once. The guy I went with has since told me they have stopped letting people go I guess there was a few who abused it. There is calientia (misspelled it I'm sure) its near boone they say its pretty good with bypasses on the things you may not want to do.

I have a few friends that still have access to Couch Mtn. Once we get up and running and get access to Couch I can let you know if you want to go with us?
