This place is sweet, bought my year permit today and went up there, there is a ton of atv/utv trails already and they are making more. I was working with some people today to open up some jeep trails, we were clearing out some wash out draws with nice rocks in them, we made several nice rock climb trails from mild to quite hard. Will be working on an extreme body damage type trail next. If you live anywhere near Ashland KY you ought to check this place out. They are planning a general store and camping and other amenities in the future, it is going to be a great place. 3100 acres right now, and I heard mention that they may open up more of their land in the future.

So the year permit is $75 unlimited access all year? And they're already letting some people in to check the place out? Probably should re-gear before I do any wheeling but I'd like to check out the mild trails and maybe help the guys out.

There is plenty of mild trails right now, a lot of the main trails in the lowlands part of it is 2wd accessible even. Get on their facebook page and maybe you could ask about helping with trails, I'm not sure who they will let work in there but you can ask. I met the owner today and he is a great guy, likes to wheel too. I am in a club based out of Ashland called ARROC, check out our forum at ARROC.com and you can come wheel with us.

Bump. Rush is an awesome area and has some awesome jeep trails and some pretty wild hill climbs. 75 bucks for a year membership is very cheap for how great the trails are!

cactus_jack 12-11-2012 05:35 AM

Well shoot, can't make it on the 15th. Maybe next time fellas

Video I made from my trip to Rush a few days ago. Winter wheeling is so much fun. Nothing crazy in this video but there is tons to offer anyone here.
Enjoy!!!!

They opened up the other side, it is 7000 acres now....one of the biggest off-road parks in KY now!

I hope they keep trails maintained. The buggies have destroyed the many Jeep trails in Harlan/Black Mountain, Ky.

what you call destroyed, we call challenging. there are still TONS of trails for the average jeep down there, but now the hard trails really are hard trails and for the bigger buggy/truggy crowd is what is needed to keep up.

there are more buggies now than ever before on the trails, they need a challenge as well.

From what I've seen the majority of buggies just need throttle & if that doesn't work apply more throttle until you make it or break it.
