In February 2011 SFC Charles Adkins bought a 1995 Jeep Wrangler for a father-son project with his oldest son, Garrhett.
SFC Adkins was killed in action in Afghanistan on 16 April 2011, leaving behind his 5 children, his wife of 14 years, and an unfulfilled wish to build his son this Jeep.
Operation Hero’s Wish is restoring and building the Jeep the way Chuck wanted for the Adkins family at no charge, but we need your help to raise money for parts.
DETAILS: We will meet in the parking lot at 10:00 AM 27 August 2011 between Blockbuster video and McDonalds on 41A in Clarksville TN and roll out at 11:00. We will convoy to Dickson, TN (approximately 1 hour 30 minutes away at convoy speed) where we will enjoy some good old Jeep camaraderie and live entertainment. Food will be available for sale by the Dickson VFW with a portion of the proceeds being donated to Operation Hero’s Wish. There will be prizes and cool Jeep stuff given away by raffle and some really cool Jeep stuff sold by silent auction. Cash and check will be accepted, however the merchandise will not be released until payment clears.
To sign up please visit Operation Hero’s Wish on Facebook, and comment how many people attending in your party under the post “JEEP RIDE FUNDRAISER SIGN-UP” or look for the Facebook event page and RSVP.
There will be a $10 minimum donation per Jeep, all proceeds benefitting the OHW project.
