Looking for some wrenching help (south Nashville area)
I recently moved to Nashville from NC. This past weekend my ZJ started spitting out gas from the tank. I could take it to a shop but would really like to be able to fix it myself. I'm a novice but really enjoy taking time to pull my jeep apart & not spending an arm and a leg for labor on simple fixes at a shop.
I found a nice little fountain in the fuel line just in between the tank & fuel filter (at leas it think that's what the cylinder is) . I believe the tank has to be dropped to access the line/swap it out. All my tools are at home and after checking the gas tank skid today, it seems the 4 rear most bolts have been welded on/have some sort of solder on the threads. So, my hope of picking up some tools and having at it were dashed.
I'm looking for someone who wouldn't mind letting me use some shop space/tools to diagnose & help me fix this problem. I'm pretty meticulous when it comes to taking things apart and would appreciate a like minded wrencher. (I took a dash off once with a guy who could put Animal from the Muppets to shame and learned never again!) I can compensate and/or would be more than willing to help out on future projects.
