I talked to insurance this morning and was able to get a rental car.
I almost got a minivan, but was able to pull off a mazda5 at the last possible moment.

some of my mods will be covered under insurance (a very small amount)
and the stuff left in the jeep will be partially covered by auto/partially by renters (hopefully)

I haven't spoken with the police today but I need to stop by there tomorrow, but I assume that they have not found anything and they never will.

I am not terribly upset anymore, and am just happy I have a ride again and can resume my normal routine and go apologize to all the commitments I was unable to fulfill when I had no car.

It takes 20 days before they declare the car a loss and I can start the ball rolling getting new stuff (I really want an IPOD again)

I am not 100% sure I will get a jeep again. If I do get a jeep again then I will wait for a good deal no matter how long it takes.
I talked to a local jeep dealer today and told them exactly what I want. They are bidding on some Rubicons tomorrow and he will look for me to see what he can find.

I am looking into getting an '05-'06 LJ Rubicon with a 6 speed and a hardtop.
A hardtop is a must because I am a firm believer that my soft top was the reason they targeted my Jeep as opposed to the 2 other hardtop Rubicons parked on the same level as me in the garage, and they make me feel safer on this campus.

I know it is a little soon to give up on my jeep, but I realize that with a Jeep as nice as mine was they were not after a joy ride. They wanted parts and that was all. I just hope they had a somewhat justifiable reason for stealing my jeep.

We will see what comes of this and hopefully I will be able to get as much money out of insurance as possible. With my next vehicle I will be purchasing the extra insurance for my modifications.

I have started planning my next build if I do end up with a Jeep, and I can promise everyone it will blow my last one away. So stay tuned.

I am sooo sorry to hear that, damn thieves. Your jeep was really nice. I am 22 and have been through 3 trucks so i know how it is to lose a loved one. Might want to post this over on pirate4x4 as well.

Check craigslist for your parts and look into new part arrivals in scrap yards.
Im sorry for your loss.

One morning I noticed my jeep was rummaged through and a screwdriver in the door pocket was gone. Being at the level of POed I was and my utter loathing of scumbags I cant imagine having the whole thing taken. I would be at a state that could only be classified as a vendetta.
