Agree with Redmanchew, and add the following. The trails and bypasses around obstacles don't necessarily keep you away from the trees. Some trails are still pretty tight. The brush is a never ending battle. There are plenty of trail sections with no brush at all and sections where it seems to close in on you at times. Send me a PM if you would like to discuss further and get more info.

I'll be camping! My wife and I looked into some of the bed and breakfast options because she isn't keen on the whole camping idea but they were all around $100 per night with two night minimum. Camping didn't sound too bad after seeing that and Lynchburg was a little further away than I would have liked.

As previously stated, there are bypasses you can use on the things you don't want to run. CJ-5 hill doesn't look that bad so I don't think you have any thing to worry about. If you are worried about stuff like underbrush, just put on a good coat of wax before the run to help minimize potential mishaps. Washing it up afterwards will be a bit easier as well. Your not being a puss by trying to avoid body damage. Mine isn't brand new and I don't want body damage either (however, if it happens I'll be mad at myself for a bit and use it as an excuse to do something else to the Jeep ) I don't think anyone is going to criticize you for not wanting to tear a brand new rig up.

Come out, have some fun, get to know your rig, and maybe learn something new.

Sounds good guys. I appreciate the feedback. I'm having my wife hook up someone to watch the dog and as soon as that's done I'll grab a ticket. Looking forward to it!

Yeah I just got my ticket and started looking for places to stay. I used to go up to UVA quite a bit on 29 and there's not too much between Lynchburg and Charlottesville. My wife will stay in a motel if its clean. I would rather camp but she's gonna want a hot shower and bed.

Charlottesville is about 45 minutes north on 29. Personally, I'd prefer that over Lynchburg, if there's no place in Lovingston. It's always a blast at Oak Ridge, and the primitive tent city is always fun and well behaved!
