I have seen full blown rigs to stockers go out there and have a great time. It is basically a 47 mile loop that takes about 2 trail days to complete as long as no one gets hung up too bad, breaks, or the groups are too large.

Some people complain about the "riding" between obsticals but that is the other end of the spectrum that make it so appealing. My 73 year old Dad was out there for the Va4wda annual (his 4th)in September and loved it.

THe wheelin for hope is a fantastic cause and it is (to the best of my knowledge) 1 of only 2 4 wheel events that take place at Oakridge every year.....
Man, I just got my Jeep and this is exactly what I needed to hear, what a great cause and community - sounds like a place I need to get familiar with! I hope I can make it it out sometime!

Oak Ridge allows the one communal bonfire. They will allow individual campfires if they are in a raised firepit. A raised firepit is self contained and up off the ground. This prevents messing the field up with a hundred pits.

As far as the other riders, they can come and park in the field at the staging area. You should register any additional vehicles parking on the property as 'tow vehicles' so that we have a record of which vehicles are on the Oak Ridge property.

thanks,
Brian

usually the bonfire starts off as a gentle roaring flame shortly before sundown but it varies on temp and dampness..

then and the croud gathers around it has a tendancy to...lets just say enlarge itself so that all within a 60' radius are nice and toasty....

Thats just usually...somtimes its much more controlled....
