Guys, please wheel where it's legal. If there are signs (Like you said there are on Oceana) dont go. If there are no signs, the worst you can get is a warning.
Get with the guys at Pungo 4x4 or something and find out where they go. Dont be stupid, it just attracts more PoPo attention to the Jeep crowd.

Agreed. You dont want to risk getting your rig impounded.

The one out in battlefield is pretty slick, but be careful and be sure to bring somebody because it's deceptive. Even with a lift you have a high chance of bottoming out once you take that right back in the woods. I just used a stick though, to see how deep it is. Other than that though, it's a pretty solid place. Just go out there on a weekend, there's usually at least 10 jeepers out there. If you go I'll see you this weekend!

A few years ago there used to be a trail between Pughsville Road and Portsmouth BLVD that was right along 664. Not sure if its still there or not. I'm new to the Jeep crowd and haven't owned a 4wheel drive truck or anything in 3 years. The only legal places I know of now are OBX and thats just sand.

I am new to off roading and living in the area. A couple questions. Does anyone know where good beginner trails are, and what may be a good group to join for someone just beginning? Thanks.
