There's Crozet on the other side of Cville. Check out Crozet
You have to be a member but there are a couple "open runs" each year. Also, several of the local clubs make runs to Crozet from time to time.
I belong to Middle Penn Jeep Assoc Inc (MPJAI) here on the Penninsula. I think we're making a run to Crozet the middle of November. Probably be running Mid-Blue to Low-Black trails... I'd say at least 33s and 1 locker would be advisable although I've seen open/open rigs pound their way around the trails.
Theres a couple groups that get together there in V beach, Im with both VBJO (Virginia Beach Off Road) and No BS Just Jeeps. You also have MPJAI up in hampton. Try looking into those groups, the guys in there know some spots around to wheel.
Also every couple of months, Starr Motors in Suffolk holds an Off Road day. They have a pretty decent set up behind their shop they let people wheel in.. It has some good tricky areas, and some areas that even the bone stockers can have fun in.
Cool thanks. I know about a couple of the organizations, but have been hesitant to join anything because I can be on the road for business quite a bit, dont know how lousy attendance is dealt with by the various groups.... I would probably join MPJAI, they meet at Pomoco I believe on mercury blvd which is virtually just down the road from my house. (and where I bought my jeep!)

When I lived on knotts island I didn't know any spots locally other than the local mud holes. I always had to make the 3+ hour trips to the mountains for any real wheeling. Now the wheeling is less than 2 hours away
