Shoe Creek

Me and a buddy are heading to shoe creek for the weekend of 1/9. Just wondering if anyone else will be out there that weekend or if anyone would like to ride with us.

Wish we could come. Fiance and I are both sick. Just got the WK lifted with tires too. Bad timing.

There's a wicked cold going around. I was looking forward to trying out the new gear too.

I've been looking into this place a little bit, but have only heard about it. What's it like as far as trails and camping areas?

I haven't been either. I asked someone in person who has. They said a stock jeep could make it. I'm sure someone else with more experience will chime in.

Ian,
Taking a look at your profile info, I don't think you would have any problem with the main trail. The camping areas are located near the trail, Coming in from rt.56 continue up the meadow road and there are several places to camp just off the trail on the way up to the Appalachian Trail. At the other end of the trail there is a larger open area just before the last river crossing where many camp.

I have not taken my ZG all the way through there yet but have ridden my dual sport through there dozens of times. I have seen stock looking jeeps going through in the summer when the creek crossing are at lower levels.

There also other trail rides in the area and many make a weekend out of it.
Hope this helps..
