There is no public wheeling in northern virginia. You will have to go out to the George Washington National forest for a few trails (that is around the Harrisonburg area).

Crozet (www.rcpfa.com) is open about 340 days per year to members, membership is $25 for year, hard to beat. dirt bikes and atv's can be accommodated for members with prior arrangements.

you can pm me on either board (rustedwrangler on both), but I am on the rcpfa board a few times per week, and sometimes I don't check this one for a few weeks at a time.

Peters Mill Run and Taskers Gap near Edinburg are open April through MLK day. Also, there are trails along the WV/VA border out I66/Highway 55. I think the trail is called Stateline, but I haven't been before. We went on our first trip to George Washington National Forest and did the Flagpole run west of Harrisonburg last weekend. Further south near Staunton is Shoe Creek trail. You should check out NOVA Jeepers Association at novajeepers.net as well.

well shoe creek is "technically" a state road and you can be ticketed for unregistered vehicles... but on that note I have never seen any sort of law enforcement out there if they even had a vehicle that was capable...

Shoe Creek is a blast for stock and mildy-built rigs. I've done it twice with Michelin street tires. No trail pinstripes either if you don't want them.

My build thread has pics again. http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f177/kevin108s-2000-xj-build-867428/

Yep just try to take a friend with another vehicle with you if at all possible. Being your first time and in the off chance you did get hung up by anything you aren't stranded.
