Hampton Roads advice

Recently moved to Portsmouth (wife stationed at NMCP) and picked up an 87 YJ a couple weeks ago. Have not seen any place to get it off the pavement yet. Not expecting a 50 mile trail across mountain ridges, but some dirt roads, hunting trails, power line trails, etc... would be nice to know about in the area.

Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The only real legal wheeling in VA outside of private property is all out west in the mountains but there's a lot of nice free public trails out there. All your powerline trails are private property owned by Dominion and they don't like people on it.

I've done Oak Ridge. It was a pay event but the trails are nice, lots of range from stock to rock. It was actually nice going in a larger group. Watching other people climb CJ rock was a blast and seeing a lightly modded Liberty go pigeon toed was painful but we were there to help them get out OK.
