Yes to all of the above. Next to flagpole knob is also Meadow Knob. Very open area, but you would want a 4lo and mild lift to get to that one (nothing crazy, just rocky and steep so 4lo is nice for speed control).

I'll post more when I get to an actual computer.

Ok so as I was saying . . .

Here is two maps. One is a sticky on this Virginia forum and one is my version of that map tailored to where I go.

My Map:
https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid...007e4536&msa=0

The Sticky'ed Map:
https://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid...3555,11.326904

The quickest entrance into Flagpole Knob is going out rte 924 (Briery Branch Rd). The longer/more scenic route is off of 33W, and takes you by the Skidmore Lake resevoir.

WHAT!? Thats craziness!

Well I will be doing a camping trip there, hopefully, last weekend of May. I'll post something up in this forum before hand - you are more than welcome to come join.

I just figured I throw this out there, my wife and daughter and myself are headed up to flag pole this weekend, I know it's last minute but I figured I'd send out an open invitation.

Flagpole is great and easy enough for a stock jeep. I've seen several stock jeeps make it. I'm going April 18-19 with some friends as a man (baby) shower. Beautiful scenery and really fun and exciting trail. Most of the obstacles can be avoided. All of the pictures attached are at flagpole. The way I get there is take route 33 to clover hill rd to union springs rd.

Anyone planning on doing flagpole on 5-24-14? would love to go but it is first time, thought it might be nice to do a group, possibly some camping if its not too rowdy.

any passes required use that land?

Well I'm going up the following weekend.

But don't worry, no passes required.

No problem. I'll be headed up sometime on Friday, but if you can't be there then - you could meet up early Saturday. I'd be happy to show you around a bit before we head onto to Shoecreek trail near Charlottesville.

Sounds great. are you planning to camp friday night up there? I'd be happy to camp up there aka I have the gear.

I have also read on here some people talking about this $5 pass for peters mill / taskers gap: I am guessing that is DIFFERENT from flag pole?

I'd love to do shoecreek as well but dont want to overstay my welcome. I've run it once before.
