Cheap Truck Challenge @ Big Boys Offroad!

Spring RCPFA Cheap Truck Challenge (CTC)

Unlimited Members are invited to field a team (In the capacity of Team Captain)
Other Participants and Spectators are not required to be members

Saturday, March 29th, 2014
Location: Big Boy's Playground (Harrisonburg, VA)
Start Time: 9:00 AM (teams must arrive by 8:00 AM)

Think you and your buddies have got the scrounging skills to build a crawler for $1,200? Here's your chance to do just that and pit your creation against your fellow cheapskates, tightwads, and penny pinchers!

Find it!

Pick your favorite beater and modify it as little or as much as you want all within the budget cap of $1,200 greenbacks. Massive sheetmetal cutting, spring overs, welded spiders and dry rotted 33's are the weapons of choice here. What you end up with probably won't be pretty or particularly capable, but that's all part of the fun.

Build It!

Spent the majority of your crawling fund already? The CTC is the perfect opportunity to team up with your fellow club or forum members and split costs. This is a great way to spend some quality time with your buddies buying and building a beater in the pursuit of cheap truck glory on March 29th!

Beat it!

Start time for the CTC is 9:00 AM, Teams should arrive No Later than 8:00 AM to get their rigs setup and ready. Open wheeling will begin after the CTC event.

Complete Official Rules for CTC Participants are here;
http://rcpfa.com/showthread.php?3474-CTC-2014-Rules

Pre-Registration is Suggested for CTC Participation

Open wheeling will start Saturday after the CTC concludes.

For more information about Open Wheeling see the Big Boy's Playground Website;
http://www.bigboysplaygroundllc.com/

Teams can be composed of one RCPFA Unlimited Member, and up to 3 other drivers.

Big Boy's fees will apply, $20 per rig, and $10 per participant/spectator. The fee includes open wheeling after the event.

How do you count parts that you already have laying around? Say I have a dana 30 that I pulled out of my cj7 and I could use it to replace a dana 27 in an early cj5. I didn't spend anything on it, I just happen to have it taking up space and it fits.

You can bring a $40,000 rig if you want. You declare the value of your rig. Just keep in mind anyone competing can buy it for the declared value. (Max of $1200)

We had a total of 6 rigs competing, and a great time was had by all! There were some motocross style "woops" that a couple guys got some decent air on, and some excellent driving displayed despite the quality of rigs presented!
