I talked to the park ranger earlier this week. He said we can trail ride in and camp where ever I'll have to pick up a map but according to him should be simple trails this go around which is fine cause none of us have ever been there so we're just checking it out this run.

just to let everyone know there are other clubs in the area with highly active membership.

rcpfa and NOVA jeepers are the two most active in va at the moment.

NOVA jeepers are holding a trail ride in GWNF april 9th to support the family of a fellow jeeper who lost his battle with cancer. there will be a day trip and a night ride also! a full day of wheeling!

http://novajeepers.net/index.php?topic=1285.0

oh there is a small donation required for that ride.

there will be a new to jeeping run coming up soon also.

oh and i;m not trying to rain on any other clubs either

Well thank you but my club is active and I met up with your president and planning a trip out there. We're not rock crawlers but we know how to have a good time.

How was the gwnf trip? I will be headed up there sometime in April, or May can't be sure just yet.

The gwnf trip was definatley fun just to get out and check things out. I am glad we ran out of trail when we did, that camp site was awesome aside from the ghosts of backpackers past...

Flagpole is one of the better gwnf trails. Great views and it is about 12 miles in length. If you go up there check with the rangers about camping to find out what is legal etc.

Are we going to see any of you guys at Crozet for the open wheeling April 9 and 10?

This is an organized, guided event. That means you can get into a group of your choice and stay in your comfort zone.

You can also switch groups mid day if you feel the need to push a bit harder, and all the hard obstacles have bypasses.

I'll be there both days.
