Thanks for the correction I always thought there wasn't much around that wasn't closing down. I do have a question though. How many of you guys trailer your jeep out to trails? Are most of your jeeps built for the street with occasional offroad use?

Some trailer but most drive to the trails. That's why we usually bring tools and spare parts.

the majority of the club drive down only a few have trailered to gwnf, no real need for a super built rig down there.

I like to say my jeep is built for crawling with occasional street use.

The USDA has even gone as far as to reroute some of it in recent years and just a few months ago I found they had leveled out the staircase at the south entrance. There are some mild places to play around if you have a stocker, but nothing too challenging.

16.5 minutes is my best time pegged at full throttle on my ATV, as long as there aren't any big slow Jeeps blocking the trail .

I've never done it on my Jeep, but the trail is pretty easy, it used to be more fun like a decade ago when there were jumps but the OHV vehicles didn't like them and they removed them.

It used to have some pretty muddy slopes but they were 'fixed' since the last time I've been.

It will take a good 3 hours with a lunch break to go up one side turn around and do it again.

Tj Just got here.

I haven't read the whole thread but I wanted to check in and say, "hey" to Jeepers in NoVA. I just moved here from Germany and am in the process of settling the family and myself into the Chantilly area.
I'll go throught the whole thread and catch up.
Anyway... happy to be here.
