We are gearing up!! We have the support of many local businesses. We have several air stations at Twiddy Realty. We will have a beach house down there this year as I am taking my vacation the week leading up to the event. That means families can take a break, kids can jump in the pool and we will have a cookout and refreshments.
Come on folks join us for this day run for a cause... www.carovabeachclean.com

Come on folks. This is a great way to show people us jeepers care about and respect the places we love to go in our 4x4's. I'm sure a lot of you guys and gals love driving on NC beaches. So why not come out for the day to help clean it up. It makes it a more beautiful beach and a safer one for all the horses wondering around. And you get the added bonus of meeting new people and making more jeeping friends!
I'm sure many more of you use the NC beaches. With the hurricane coming this weekend, I bet the beach is going to have LOTS of debris coming ashore. I am hoping this is not the case, but you NEVER know with mother nature. So, with this in mind, please consider joining this great cause. It's just one day and makes a huge, positive impact on the environment.
Really considering helping out on this, even tho I just drove back from OBX last Saturday. But (there's always a but) I start a new job that Monday and have no idea what my schedule will be.
In regards to Irene, I agree that there is definitely potential for a greater cleanup need. But (there's that but thing again) who's to say that all beaches may still be closed? Definitely should keep tabs on access to the islands in general. I could see a last minute decision that could go either way for the whole event.
Really hope it happens. And I can come.

Just got back from Corolla. We were there last week and got evacuated on Thursday, cutting our vacatoin way short. Not happy since this is the 2nd year in a row we've been evacuated for a storm. Hope everything survived down there, looked like you guys could use the rain. All the mud holes back in the dunes that I usually drive through were almost completely dry.
