288 JKU crash

Just watching channel 12 and saw a report of a horrible fatal crash involving a lifted black JKU with AEV wheels. Crossed the median and collided with a logging truck.

Anyone have any info? Sure hope it wasn't a mechanical failure related to mods. Maybe a blown tire?

I have no idea what happened. One would hope its not mechanical, and a 46 yr old man SHOULDN'T be having medical issues...But that was one vaporized Jeep. My prayers are with the family of the Jeeper, and with the man driving the truck.

Really ugly crash. RIP to the driver.

If I was the installer of the lift kit I'd be worried, unfortunately.

Track bar comes to mind, but I sure hope not. The JK shot across the median into oncoming traffic.

He used to be a salesman at my dealership. He moved to another dealership and was delivering the car. Apparently he passed out at the wheel from some medical incident. Never even let off the gas.

One of our fellow Jeepers was there. He took pics from the scene, said it was pretty bad.

Aw man that sucks. Condolences to the family. Glad he didn't kill anyone else.
