Hey again folks. Since Monday, September 1st is a holiday, and the Post Office will be closed, you have tomorrow (Saturday 8/30) to get your registration postmarked and in the mail if you want to attend the event.
The camper/popup/motorhome issue is still being worked on, answers will be sent with the confirmation email September 2nd.
Hey sccrstar, this will be pretty much my first time with my xj too, good to see some more guys like me are going to be there. I just started modding my xj this year and its only been offroad once. Should see you out there....
Guys, the Annual will have lots of new Jeepers out for the first time.
One great thing about mixing new Jeepers/wheelers with experienced wheelers is that, it helps the newer folks with their "learning curve".
It really helps your nerves to watch someone else go over an obstacle first.. that way, you know it can be done. It also helps to have a few experienced eyes watching you... that can help keep you out of bad situations.
The Annual is always a fun event... nothing like hearing all the exciting stories after the first day of trail riding..
'80 CJ5 w/AMC360, T176, D44 w/Detroit 4.56, RE 4" YJ lift and 35s..
definitely true! I know i followed a white xj at the starr motors day, definitely helped the nerves, but i did choose a different line on the very last mud hole......big mistake lol. But, yea Im counting down the days till the annual ride....
Beginner in an XJ here too guys, so you aren't alone lol. I've been on a few small trails here and there, but never an actually OHV park. Can't wait for this, especially since I'll get to try out all the new parts in my sig!
Hey dcorn, you going to have the gears and powertrax in before the trail ride?
Yup. I was supposed to get them put in today, but my buddy had some stuff come up, so I'm taking the Jeep in on Monday instead. It's a tad last minute, but he's an awesome mechanic so it should be fine. Can't wait to see how they feel.
New wheels and tires are going on today. I need to find a place to test them out
Rigidco bumper just got put on Tuesday, so thats ready to roll.
Yea, I hope your able to get all that installed before Friday. I know them 4:56's are gonna kick some major *** out there. lol Im getting more interested in the no slip for my 8.25, hopefully you can get it in and I can see how it does for you next weekend. Im a little worried about my lack of a SYE, but Im not going to let it hold me back, Ima give it everything shes got it!

I have one of those sitting in my garage as well, next to a front driveshaft and all the rebuild parts on order Doubt I'll get it in before the event since I don't want to screw something up during the install and not be able to make the drive down.
sweet, so well be the select few without the sye, as long as part of some type of group lol. I think itll be allright, I put mine through a decent trail last month, didnt have many problems except my tc crossmember, that thing hangs low like a 3rd leg or something. I did put a tc skid on, so maybe thatll minimize some damage
You guys should be fine, Camp Jeep is held here, there are folks that wheel these trails bone stock, so no worries. Don't get me wrong, there are tougher obstacles, but there are bypasses everwhere, too. There will be plenty of experienced wheelers, plus Trail Guides to help you out too if you want to do something you're not sure about. Plenty of people wheel their daily drivers and can't mess their Jeep up also. As BESRK said, "It really helps your nerves to watch someone else go over an obstacle first.. that way, you know it can be done." and it also helps to show you a line that works if they make it. After two days on the trail you'll find that your skills will be greatly improved.
