My 2 week vacation is Aug 21th (a Saturday) To Sept 5th (a Sunday).I got both my weeks together so then my yeary the Big trip out west will include Moab AND Colorado.
These weeks ar a good time of the year to be out there. Its not unbearbly too hot or cold.
Anyone on here is free to come along if you would like to. its 2 days of driveing EACH WAY from where i am in southeren Ohio. I drive about 65 on the way there so I can see the country. If you would like to see much more of the counrtry the more southeren route(I-40 though OK, TX, and NM) doesn't take all that much more time.
All of this could be blown out of the water if I get laid off. If that happens I may go out there sooner to work.
Pm me if interested in tagging along.

Nice video. I've ridden the Durango-Silverton train several times. Fun! I'd love to live in a little Colorado town, but that requires a trust fund with the way real estate prices are. I remember many of those towns as a kid in the 70s that just had hippies living in run down old houses. I wish my parents had bought property in one of them back then!
Anyway, I also have plans to drive some trails near Ouray and Buena Vista around August 1st. I have a campsite reserved in fact! I'm also waiting to see what happens with my job depending upon how long I stay (I work in publishing like the guy in the video so I know how he feels).
Damn, wish this was the week before.
Im planning on going out (from Central Illinois) to Moab for a week, but I gotta be back by the 23rd cause classes start. :/
I'm originally from Pike County but am moving to the Denver area next week. (Leaving May 24).
I have vacation those 2 weeks in Aug/Sept and will certainly be wheeling a lot, in fact I was thinking about a Moab trip then anyway. I check this forum often, so getting a hold of me should be easy..:cheers2:
Have fun... I just returned two weeks ago from Ouray/ Ridgway. Weather was rainy, but at least it kept the dust down. And it took me three days to drive from Indy.
^My mom lives north of Ouray and she's been telling me they've had a lot of rain, more then most summers. At least it keeps the dust down.
