My son and I took the XJ back in '06. We had a great time, the first night we were there it rained like hell which made the trails at least one number harder than normal. Had to be strapped four different times over the course of two days (twice in mud, twice on rocks). On the plus side there were three different obstacles where other drivers got stuck that we went right through. It's nice when you get through a tough obstacle and the other drivers are standing around cheering you on. Of all the events we have done I probably learned more that weekend than any other. The trail guides were great and really knew their stuff. In fact the whole event staff were great.

When we went the price included breakfast a packed lunch for on the trail and dinner, I think (we chose to hit a couple of local places for dinner the first two nights). In addition it was based at a local college campus and we stayed in dorms so there were no hotel cost. There were several hotels in the area if you chose to go that route. Overall it cost the two of us less at the Jamboree than when we go to Camp Jeep.

I am a trail guide for the Penn's Woods Jamboree, and can tell you that we are going to be working on at least 1 new trail for this year.
If you have any questions about this Jambo, feel free to ask me. Adam. |

You can stay in the dorms? Didn't see that in the info package...
Here's the link: http://www.meetinbradford.com/full_service/housing/index.html, and phone number: 1 888 373-7488. Bradford's a 3.5 hour drive away, but I'm just about ready to sign up with my GF & son. Gills Last edited by gills; 04-23-2009 at 04:58 PM.. |

I signed up yesterday; stayin' in a Pitt-Bradford dorm room!
Best part is my son, outta the blue yesterday says "I wish we could go to a Jamboree thing..." So of course I'm not gonna tell him until it's go time. Hope it's rainy till we get there. Rescue Green looks good with a side of mud. |
