We were in there for I think 2 to 2.5 hours, KK/Nitro section was shut down by the time we left the Wrangler side.
Wrangler side is interesting but like Archer stated not as much to see.
Frames come in all together, bodys come in pretty much all together, interesting but not as good as watching a whole body being welded together on the other side!
KKs/Nitros are completely built in the plant, ( well pretty much so) Wranglers are built on site, but by out side suppliers build all of the pieces and brought into the plant to be finished

About 26 years. But, that included a tour of the old Parkway plant, the old Stickney plant, and a 6 year tour of Jefferson North Assembly.
Tom summed it all up nicely. Any tour that they give you will be great, but the Wrangler is sub-assembled by suppliers. All Chrysler does is bolt it all together. The Liberty and Nitro part of the plant is traditional, in that there is a body, paint, and trim shop all owned by Chrysler that assembles them.
If they have insisted that you need to wear long pants and shirts, that's a good indication that you'll be touring the body shop. You can't get into the body shop without them. Of course they might be taking you to the supplier body shop.
Hmmm... I dunno....

To be honest I dont know if I want to drive all the way to toledo just to see some assembly. I expected it to be the whole thing.
Dont get me wrong, Id love to see it, but its a long *** drive just to get there.

I'll confirm.
Any future e-mails I'm sending will be CC'd to everyone so we can all stay in a consistent loop instead of me just constantly relaying information.

I'm still looking forward to it even with a four hour drive. How many people can say they actually walked through a Wrangler factory? Worth it IMHO.
I'm also glad that Jeep is allowing us to do this. And thanks as well to Chris for setting this up.

No matter how long it takes to get here it is worth it, plus like mentioned above not that many get the chance!
Think about this, my buddy Tony traveled from Spain to visit here and do the tour!
Drive from Dover to do the tour...nothing to that, short hop, do that trip down through Dover every other week on the way to Marietta!

As said above (let me paraphrase), "Beggers can't be chooser's.". I'm glad to see the inside of the plant. I wish Chrysler were more giving to the people that love their vehicles, talk about them, and work hard to keep the nameplate going down the road.
IMHO, Jeep owners and their websites are not like any other. I've seen no other online community as passionate about their vehicle as Jeep owners.

Off topic a bit,
but I still fail to understand why they do not do more tours! They could even charge and people would pay to do the tour, buy a hat/tshirt whatever.
I've rode Harleys since 1973, look at what they do with t shirts alone at their dealerships, the run to their plants etc., Jeep is losing money I think by not doing something like that!
Also a Jeep week in Toledo with tours, an off road course set up, show and shine etc , ...............
Oh well get off my rant but they are missing out I think.

Ok, so, are any of us going to meet up for a lil' eating before we go? I might grab some McDs at the very least. Sit down + Eat would take too long more likely than not.
Also, anyone know of any wide open parking lots nearby the factory? I'd like to find a nice simple place (Walmart or something) for us to gather up before we go over to the factory and convoy it open.

Not off the top of my head...Might want to ask some of the locals that are going.
BTW, I'm hoping for some free Jeep Swag, at least a sticker or something...

Oh god damn it.
I went over the list again I sent to Jodi, then looked at all the e-mails that people sent in, and somehow I got a total of 22 people and told her 20.
I'm trying to figure who I left off the list, and if the were the last people to jump aboard to figure this out fairly. Herp derp major darp on my part.
