Athens Ohio

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum as well as the Jeep'ing community. I've been lurking around the forum for a few weeks now, and I'm anxious to get to know my new TJ better! Anyone else in southern Ohio or near Ohio University? I look forward to getting to know a few owners that could give me some helpful pointers!

I was in Athens from September 99 to December 04. I was driving a rusty ol' CJ7 and even though I went offroad minimally, the backroads of Athens county are absouletely awesome. Grab your girl, a map (screw the GPS) and get lost on the miles of dirt roads. If you want to hit some trails, there are some legal old township "roads" in Vinton county that are within an hour drive.

Most of the "legal" old back roads that used to be fun are being closed down by the timber owners who do not want anyone close to their land! Used to be some great wheeling.
To the OP contact me if you would like to trail along with our group sometime
check out L.O.S.T Jeeps Offical Web Site - For Jeep Owners then either the Midwest and/ or Ohio sections. We do something at least once a month.
I grew up down in that area , then my wife taught at OU for a few years so know the area pretty well
I just drive a Liberty these days but it gets me around where I need to go
