We had them dancing all around us last night - Beecher first, then across the southern part of the county through Fenton and Goodrich, then another one late that also aimed for the Clio-Mt Morris-Beecher area at first then took a weird turn to the south directly at us. In the end nothing close - although modern Doppler sure does redefine close. Now you can pinpoint the rotation plus speed/direction and go back to business because it will not pass within 1500 yards. I had the 2m radio tuned into the weather net for Genesee County, busy night for the emergency management teams.

Yeah they can pinpoint them but still set a tornado warning for the entire county. I live really close to the siren and it was going of like every half hour. Made it tough to sleep.

I will be dropping the tranny on the Rubicon in the next couple days, any tips or insight I should know before doing it?? Everything I have read says that the whole tranny needs to be dropped to replace the throwout bearing.

It's probably easiest. Dropping the transmission is not a big deal on these Jeeps. Taking the shift lever off was the hardest part of removing my AX-5.

Yes - I am a ham, and my son and I recently completed Sky Warn training so we were listening with interest.

I've always had the interest, but never the time to study to get the ticket. I need to do that one of these days.
