St. Helen Summer Kickoff Event May 21, 2011. DNRE & State Reps in attendance.

I was told that the DNRE & some MI State Representatives were going to be in attendance and at the new rock crawl area to get a first hand look.

Anyone else attending this event? I'm heading up Saturday with some people and doing some trail riding and then possibly working our way towards Mio.

Below is information form DirtPackers about the event.

Come join us for our Summer Kickoff Event !!! The DirtPackers, St. Helen Chamber of Commerce, and The Roscommon Voice are combining forces to provide a great day of fun. The DirtPackers will conduct an ORV Parade thru Saint Helen. Bring your JEEP, Bike, ATV, and SxS to show how we support the local St. Helen Community. A competitive BBQ Rib Cookoff is also planned. Judges will select the best tasting Ribs at 2pm. A Pig Roast will provide plenty of food at the reasonable price of $6 for those that attend.

The St. Helen ORV Scramble Area with the new rock crawl is just down the road and there are lots of trails in this area. The scramble area also has several small sand hills to play on. Check out the video link to see what this area has to offer. http://dirtpackers.com/videos.php

Here is an article about the new rock crawl http://www.mlive.com/sports/bay-city...area_adds.html

This is a great opportunity to gain support for our sport.

DNRE & State Representatives will be at this event to see first hand the hard work that was put in to create the new rock crawl at the scramble area. Please pass this on to anyone you know that may be interested. It would be great to have a strong show of support this weekend and let the decision makers know that they made the right choice. Maybe they will approve more ORV use like this.

Thank you.
