Anyone been up to the St. Helen trails and scramble area? I was going to go up there in a couple weeks and just wanted to make sure it was worth it.

You can go from West Branch to the scramble area completely on trails and seasonal roads.
Make sure youhave an ORV sticker, I believe it is required in St. Helen.

There's nothing "Extreme" I've been on rides with stockers that have made it through most everything.
Other than my tires and BB I consider myself stock. We've never gotten stuck. Nice trails, nice scenery.

There are a couple sand hills that are fun. But remember the law states the trails are open if traversable by a conventional 2WD vehicle. It doesn't say if that vehicle is an Escort wagon or a 2WD F350.

We go to St Helens several times a year. Some nice lil sand hills in the scramble area. Miles and miles of seasonal roads and ORV Routes in the area.

This is an older thread, but May 21, 2011 St. Helen has an event. Info below:

"Come join us for our Summer Kickoff Event !!! The DirtPackers, St. Helen Chamber of Commerce, and The Roscommon Voice are combining forces to provide a great day of fun. The DirtPackers will conduct an ORV Parade thru Saint Helen. Bring your JEEP, Bike, ATV, and SxS to show how we support the local St. Helen Community. A competitive BBQ Rib Cookoff is also planned. Judges will select the best tasting Ribs at 2pm. A Pig Roast will provide plenty of food at the reasonable price of $6 for those that attend".

I was told that high up DNRE personnel and State Representatives are supposed to be there to see first hand the work that was put in to create the new rock crawl at the scramble area. This is a great opportunity to prove to them that these projects are a good idea and maybe we can get support for future projects like this. Please pass this information on and see if we can make a strong show of support.

^ BTW that is a nasty hole. it will eat some good trucks and jeeps. i love going trough it on my quad.

if you are around the area join the dirtpackers the jeep group is still small and looking for members.
