They close october 31. Pretty fun place to wheel. They have park hours im sure, but the park has limited parking and you need a voucher to enter and an orv sticker.

Re: Silver Lake

Silver Lake Sand Dunes is one of the reasons I bought a Jeep!

We've been up there a few times, worth the 5 hour drive every time...
Last July 4th, was really crowded, but was still a great time in the sand!!

Obtaining your ORV sticker and vouchers are straightforward processes.

Here is a link for the dnr info - it has all the official info:

If you're going with kids, I highly recommend http://www.silverlakerc.com/ They are very family friendly.

Thanks for the Info yall. I checked out the links, looks like a nice place. Ill give them a call next week and get some info from the horses mouth so to speak.

From talking to my guest, I manage a ORV park in Oklahoma (Little Sahara State Park), I thought it was bigger. Any ways, Happy New Year.

Silver Lake is a great experience. Holiday weekends can be a challenge but not unmanageable. We go at least once a year and can't wait to schedule our first trip in 2012...

Silver Lake is great. Been going there for 15 years now. Holiday weekends are always crowed, but if you like to people watch, it is worth it. They do a sound check at the gate and you have to an orange flag on the front.
