The mounds is making a come back in popularity due to the new rock courses. Back when I DD'ed my Xj on 33's it seemed like every trip to the Mounds required a new alternator afterwards! We are shooting for a trip to Rocks and Valleys next weekend. Hopefully I can get the new rock sliders and winch installed before then.

Sure! The only issue with me is my days off are Sundays and Mondays. Either of those days are good for me. We are most likely heading up to Rocks and Valleys this Sunday, Oct. 9, anyone reading this is more than welcome to caravan up there with us or meet there.

I probably won't get out again until Halloween or later. Hoping for a trip to Rocks & Valleys before the end of the year.

Keep your calendars open for Thanksgiving at The Mounds. Crazy busy day in the morning, everyone is gone by 1pm or so. And if you come don't forget a non-perishable food donation (or cash), What Lies Beyond Jeep Club will be holding their annual canned food drive for the Food Bank of Eastern MI.

How intense are the mounds? I have only been there with built trucks. Can you run some of the trails with a more stock jeep?

The Mounds has some good trails back near the new rock crawl area plus some in between the two main roads, lots of places to go in a stock Jeep or truck. You just need to tread carefully in the scramble areas or anywhere else the BDMTs have been playing in the mud, some of those holes will swallow you whole. And like anywhere else, take a strap and a friend because even the access roads can get chewed up. A guy in our club got his wife's KJ stuck last summer on the road that runs down the east side of the park under the power lines.

I never made it to R&V yesterday. Instead, I spent yet another weekend working on the Cj instead of being out on the trails. On the upside the new winch is installed, BTF rocker armor is welded on, and all the armor and inside the tub is Herculined.

Me and a buddy are going to play around at the mounds tonight. With the rain the past week it should be interesting. I think I'll take my swamp boots.
