Request for Jeeps

Ladies and Gentleman:

The veterans of the Milford American Legion (Michigan) is requesting assistance from your Jeep community for our annual Memorial Day Parade.

We ask for support to carry those veterans that cannot march. The parade is approximately 1/2 mile long; too much for some of our veterans.

The basics of it are: We line up the Jeeps - we line up the non-walking Vets - they get into Jeeps at an appropriate time; we head down main st to a Park ceremony where they are dropped off.

If you are interested; we would really appreciate it!!

Please respond at www.milfordlegion.org; there is a link that all of our parade information goes through.

thank you very much

I would be happy to help, but the link in your post did not work and I was unable to find anything using a Google search.

We had a great day, and what a great way to spend Memorial Day. The folks from Milford and the surrounding communities turned out in huge numbers to thank the veterans from their community. The parade route was about a mile long, and many of the vets were unable to walk the distance (including a couple of hills) to the Veterans Memorial. People were lined up at the curb for the first 1/3 of the route, clapping and thanking the vets - then we turned the corner into downtown, and they were elbow-to-elbow 4-6 people deep for the remainder of the route. Truly a great event to be a part of.

Thanks to Larry (WWII sailor) and Lou (WWII tank driver) for riding along with me, it was a real pleasure to meet those guys.
