In need of a TJ 4.10 Front...

...or someone that knows how to set up gears (and is cheaper than DNR driveline). I need to get my front regeared to match the 4.10 8.8 I swapped in.

Does anyone have an axle they'd be willing to part with, or have experience setting up gears?

Thanks in advance Michigan

Look for an axle out of a 2.5l (4 banger) stick TJ.

It should be 4:10 and bolt right in and reasonably priced.

i got a d44 with chromos, 5.13s, and a detroit locker.
then i got some 5x5.5 rear chromo shafts for the 8.8

that should hold to 35s good enough for me.

Its less about the rig, and more about the driver. I didnt need the upgrades, but they fell into my lap. Hone your driving skills, it will take you farther than any built axle will.

I did end up getting the axle I needed. Watch Great Lakes 4x4, that's where I ended up scoring mine.

I hope it doesn't come to that, I'm hoping to upgrade to a high pinion for the price of re-gearing. I'll keep it in mind though. Thanks.

Aren't YJ's already high pinion?

I'm doing a 98 tj same set up as you. Ive got my iron rock brackets tacked on and ready for mock up. Now I'm looking to swap my front with a 4.10 axle, just no luck finding one.

Gotcha.

Depending on the direction of your build, I think there's a 4.56 geared LP30 at Pete's in Jenison (at least there was when I was looking).

I think my search took about 2 - 3 months total. The one that's in there was one that found me via the "wanted" section on GL4x4.

If I stumble across one on CL or elsewhere I'll give you a shout! If you need any 8.8 swap info, shoot me a PM...I'm pretty happy with the way mine turned out.
