About the legal wheelin'...even the abandoned construction site that I have permission to go on is being shut down. They have started to build close to that parcel of land and it has shrunk my little piece of mud tremendously. I went there this past weekend and got a little dirt on the tires, I saw some remnants of camp fires in there so I know that others are still using it.

Oh well, that's progress I guess. I'm looking into Rocks & Valleys and The Mounds to see what the cost and requirements are. Maybe able to make a trip out there one of these weekends.

I've been to the Mounds about 4-5 times, if you're not a local resident it costs $11 to get in and an ORV sticker. Rocks and Valley's I havent been to. I think it might be a tougher terrain but don't quote me on that

So far, I've purchased the ORV sticker (got it at Walmart for $15). Rocks & Valleys has a requirement for orange flags at least 2' above the highest point on the vehicle.

I've been told that the Mounds has trails that stockers can navigate. I just don't want to get somewhere to do some wheelin' and end up getting pulled out more than wheelin'.

I used to do the Mounds stock before I did my lift and tires and only got stuck a couple times. There usually is a loop hole in certain ares. I was just there sunday and parts of the course was pretty ripped up. If you get stuck, you get stuck, thats why you bring plenty of tow strap and friends along to bail you out

ORV Parks

Rocks & Valleys
From Rochester Hills, it's 2 hrs 34 mins

    Annual membership $250

  2. Seatbelts and child safety seats required.
  3. No alcohol, glass bottles, drugs or weapons.
  4. At least one tow point.
  5. Roll bars, battery tie down, tow point, flag and entrance sticker.
  6. Shirt and shoes.

The Mounds
From Rochester Hills, it's 58 mins

  • $11 - non-resident daily pass
  • $8 - resident daily pass

just got out of court. apparently 29 and mound used to be open, its closed due to idiots stealing cars and dumping them back there.

i ended up with 225 dollars in fines, the hyta program so i dont have anything on my record and 6 mos. of non reporting probation.

i will never ever wheel somewhere illegal again.

Oh man! That sux!

Yeah, we need to get a member with some land or something so that we don't have to start collecting dues for bail and ticket money!

I think that the Mounds would be our best bet for wheelin' and no fines.

Looking at the website (Michigan Interactive - St. Helen ATV Trails), it seems that it's only for ATV's.
