Wj Grand Rapids Jeep Service Recommendations?

Hi all,

I live in Grand Rapids and am trying to avoid the stealership. The last time I went there for a "clunking" noise, I walked out with a $2,700 bill...and the noise was still there. Ended up troubleshooting and fixing a bad driveshaft CV joint myself.

I need someone who knows Jeep Dana differentials. I was originally going to attempt this myself and, the more I read, the more I realized that I do not have the specialized tools or knowledge. At least, not yet.

I have a 1999 Grand Cherokee Limited. 4.7L with Quadradrive and factory towing. I believe my front pinion bearings need to be replaced. There is a whine during acceleration or when I let off of the gas and let it drag. I removed the front drive shaft and there is no whine (and the front driveshaft just had both ends rebuilt). There is a small amount of play in the yoke.

Thanks,

Brandon

I have not. Lol. Which means I'll probably end up having to roll the dice and see what happens.

This place says it's in Sparta:
http://rocksolidperformance.com/
Did you have any experience with them? I'm looking to get 4.56 gears installed in my Jeep TJ.

They are in Cedar Springs. Right on 17mile west of Algoma. Great guys there. Very knowledgeable. More a custom build/fab shop than a fix it shop. They do gear and axle swaps as well as motor swaps and other stuff. Good prices on axle shafts and gears.

Im actually wearing my ROCKSOLID t-shirt right now...

Old thread I know, but I have always had good luck with D&R Driveline on Chicago Dr. They have done a number of things for me. Good prices and pretty quick turn around.
