Drummond is tons of fun. Dont wheel on drummond alone! It has the best public trails in michigan!
What is your jeep like? Lockers? Tire size? Winch?

Drummond for sure. I wouldn't say "don't wheel Drummond alone". If you have another Jeep to go with, great, but if not, it definitely shouldn't stop you. Just be cautious of the mud. There's water on all the trails, but most have solid rocky bottoms. However, there is one very muddy section (wish I could point it out on a map) that has deep mucky holes, and I won't ever go on that section again for what it did to my Jeep.

If you do go to Drummond, stop by Wazz's Party Plus gas station on 134 to pick up a trail map. You'll pass by there anyway. They also have free air for refilling your tires.

The DNR trail map is practically useless:

There is also Turtle Ridge Offroad Park which is private land:

Never been there. Everything I described above is state land.

If u break on the trail, u are a long walk out.
wheeling alone anywhere is a bad idea.
not a likely issue, but the island has a healthy bear population.

It would not be a long walk. It's a small island and popular in the summer.

You can waste your whole life waiting for the stars to align so everyone can go together or you can just go out and do things. The former never does anything. This doesn't just apply to wheeling.

No offense but this whole don't wheel alone thing I hear constantly is sissified. That isn't how wheeling or exploration started. It doesn't do anything but deter people from doing things that they would otherwise be just fine doing.

If you have someone to go with, great. But if not, it should not stop you. Just use at least half of your brain, and you will be fine.

When are you coming up here? I could point you towards a trail or two, and depending on the day, would love to hit drummond island.
Im running open diffs right now, but if you aren't coming up till later in the summer I may have a locker as well. Let me know?
