There is no legal public land in south east Michigan where wheeling is allowed.

Only legal options for you are the Mounds ORV park in Genessee county (northeast of Flint) or private land IF you have permission to be there from the owner.

There is public land and trails further north starting near West BRanch or Gladwin, and out to the western part of the state on Federal land.

Sorry, but this is the stark, brutal reality we have living where we do. See GLFWDA.org if you want to know more about what is out there and why.

Welcome to the site.

I'm also in Oakland county. If I can find any places I'll let you know. I normally wheel up north in the West Branch area.

No winch, just some recovery straps.
I was going to say i got a second set of BFG 31s on factory rims but they dont have to much tread.

My son recently got a 98 wrangler sport as his first vehicle and wants to take it off-road. After reading this thread, I realized that the mounds are almost in our backyard. His TJ has no lifts but what look to be decent tires. Would he be able to ride around there or would his stock jeep run into problems?
