I keep in in my subscriptions. Unfortunately unless someone comes up with some of their own private land, its either get shot or get arrested in NW IN.

I have to agree. Think you have to go to Illinois or go to badlands.

Many trips planned to the badlands from the indiana and illinois clubs just about every weekend it seems.

I will be going down to Badlands on 2-16 - Badlands is offering a free pass to come back if you go on that date:

I know there used to be some light trails and an abandoned road back by the Bass Pro Shop in Portage. Nothing extreme, but if you wanted to get your wheels in some mud that abandoned road is pretty fun after a good rain. And the conservation officers won't bother you. People go back there to fish all the time. Also, there is a trailer park off highway 12 on your way from portage to Michigan City. "McCool Rd." Is the name of the road that the trails are off of. If you look along salt creek, Little Calumet, and Trail Creek there are quite a few abandoned roads and trails big enough for a jeep. Its been a couple years since I've been up there, but Ill think of more if they come to me.

Any updates on this front? Maybe even further east or into SE Michigan? Dirt roads, even?
