If I can manage to find time to fab up a new xfer case/muffler skid to replace the one I mangled the last run, I'm in. Waiting on a new plasma cutter so I can cut through 1/4" steel plate like a hot knife cuts butter. Oh, and my spring retainer WILL hold my spring in place this time... I hope.

Okay, so the husband and I are going to try and make this one. Can anyone tell us what we will need for the day, as this is the first time either of us have gone wheelin'?

There is a ton of stuff you could bring so I will try to cover some of the basics that are required by the club. Front and rear tow points, orange flag, a two way radio or cb, spare tire full size, fire extinguisher, 1st aid kit; now that I have said these are required it is a good idea to have these things but some we will let slide. Mike will tell you what he fully expects you to have but the recovery points are a must-tow hooks in front and back or a receiver hitch. A tow strap, no metal ends, is nice but a lot of the members have them so its is not a necessity just easier for recovery. I hth and you will have a blast we are laid back and just enjoy our jeeps and wheeling. Please visit our website and that will give you an idea of what to expect when you go. Some food for the trails would be nice although there is a snack bar there. The group usually eats after the trail run.

Man that would be sweet to convoy but some of you are a little south of me. But I look forward to seeing some friendly hoosier faces.

Hi everyone

Seems like we have a nice group going
It's going to be a lot of fun as always and we'll be wheeling on a few trails.
I cannot wait to go!

*Note: If you joined our trail runs in the past and this will be your 2nd run with us...You are able to join our club if you wish. If you plan on joining please, have the membership form filled out along with your club fee. Thanks.

HoosierJeepster,

Thanks for having interest in coming along on this trail run. For a 1st timer all we ask is to possibly have a CB or a 2 way radio so, we can contact each other on the trails. Other than that...Bring what you wish... like: food, drinks, extra clothes incase you may get muddy, boots, camera, video and others. Our members usually carry lots of tools incase we need to fix something and we have straps and winches. If you become a club member we have a list of requirements but, since you are new...Come join us and see what your jeep can do. You are going to have a blast and hopefully intime will join our club. We'll see you soon!

Thank You,
Michael
Club President

"Jeeps Gone Wild" last run was my first. I had a CB, some tools, and snacks. That was it. Sadly, I was the only one that needed pulled out, and one of the guys (Kevin I believe it was) had a towstrap he used to pull me out. It's their show, so they call the shots, but even still I don't have all of the "required" things (I'm working on it). And won't for a bit. But between me and the few friends that are coming with me, we'll have most of them. Mike is pretty easy going. If I had to guess, I'd say don't let a lack of equipment be a reason to not come. If you can't get a hold of something, just ask him if it's alright.

Things I learned from my first wheeling trip...

A CB is a huge benefit and I'd strongly recommend one. At the very least a 2 way radio.

A tow strap is good to have, 20 or 30 ft.

Tow points are good.

You can buy an orange flag there at the Badlands for like 14 bucks (They cram perfectly into the tailgate seal on my TJ.)

You will have a metric *** ton of fun. Just be prepared to bump and scrape the underside of your jeep a little, and maybe get some natural pin stripes from small tree limbs (and be ok with it). I went with my paper plates still on my TJ. It was one of the best days of my life. I had an absolute blast.

As a reminder, if anyone wants to convoy coming in from the Indy area to the Badlands, shoot me a PM. I can't wait for the 17th!

Rear Currie 4" coils - 190 shipped. (They've been sitting in the back of my Jeep for mock up but won't work out for me.)

Hornblasters Shocker S4 horn set with some extras $210 shipped. (It is not OBA, just an accessory for OBA)

"LCOG" isn't cheap and it certainly isn't easy. If you think so, you are doing it wrong. If you aren't willing to put in the effort, don't label your build "LCOG". You are just a cheap ******bag.

IndyORV- Dick and fart jokes, titties, throttle, flops, beer, tater balls, and good times.

I'm in, just did a tune up on the Jeep this week too. Jerry should be in good shape now, had a blown manifold gasket, and after a couple of tries, got it fixed.

Even if you've never been wheeling, you'd be fine. It's pretty much a game of follow the leader, and spotters will guide you through the tough sections. I usually get there around 10:30am Indiana time, 9:30am Illinois time.

Note to self: Do NOT watch videos on Youtube of D35's breaking EVER again. It almost scared the wheelin right out of me.
