Cyberpunk: The 18th is a definite JGW run, so it will count as your second. The club will do many more trails than just the haunted trail run

What happned on orange was - the first obsticle was the 1 ft mud slop up that incile hill , and every jeep that was hitting it couldn't get up they tried like 4 times and then finally winched , there was about 6 jeeps in front of me ... and i was the only one to make it , and on the first try - after that we ran out of time and had to turn around but - I totally MADE IT!!!

sounds like it was a good time. so this hill everyone is gossiping about, is it really that hard? I've never wheeled at Badlands. Just raced there once for a D15 dirt bike race. how does this hil compare to Devil's Backbone at Haspin Acres?

devils backbone

The hill we've been talkin about on the orange trail wasn't really a 'hill!' I was just a 6-8ft kicker that had some gnarly ruts. Combined with the soupy mud that gets dragged up on it, just became a slippery situation.

The devil's backbone at Haspin is more like the hillclimbs you find later on in the orange trail, although none quite the length of the 'Bone! Badlands has it's own challenges though, with lots of steep dropoff's and climbs, plenty of nasty diff-draggin rocks and mud (more than I'd like to admit!!)

Sad thing about this topic, we didn't even get to the orange trail as most people know it. They added this section of trail when the MX track was built this spring. Who knew the entrance ramp would be harder than the trail oh well. we'll hit it next time, maybe a little earlier

I just wanted to say thanks to Fred (PlumcrazyP) for guidance on the trails. He helped me do things in my jeep I didn't know it would be able to do. He was generous enough to help my friends and I make it. Minor jeep trouble in the weeks leading to the trip. Fred was there to help us make the trip. Driving a mildly built CJ 5 I was hesitant on somethings. I wasn't to sure as to what it would do. Well I successfully made it through the Orange trail and then through the Red trail (very minor body damage). I was glad I met up with him. We had a good time and will wheel together again. Even though he had to be pulled out. I did get to see some of the Jeeps Gone Wild crew. There are some nice looking jeeps. We would've joined in with the group but we had a couple intruders. Some of you may have seen us. We had a white YJ, army green CJ, orange Scout, nicely built Yota and of course Fred in the purple TJ. We actually led the group into the creek trail. Disney and Plumcrazy I guess decided we would go and lead the group.

The beginning of the orange trial I think was proabably the hardest part of the trail. Once you get of the nasty hill it was pretty calm after that. That hill was definately a momentum hill. You had to carry enough speed to help get to the top while hugging the left side around the basement that was in the left tire track. Overall we had a great time. I am glad to hear their wasn't much damage from anybody. Nice and safe. Hope to see you all soon.
