Here's my plan.

Heading to Champaign/Urbana on Saturday for this : http://www.jaytv.com/urbanabeerandchili/

Then leaving early on Sunday for Badlands.

Probably leaving the park about 4pm so we can make it home to watch the Bears game.

I'm now officially bringing the wife and daughter. Should be fun.

Oh, and tonight I got part of the grill mod done (didn't have enough zip tie blocks) and installed the Rugged Ridge front stubby. Ordering M8000 and Prerunner guard next week.

I like to know who's going to show up in Darien at the Speedway?

Here is some extra information if you wish to meet up with us.

In the morning a few of us will be meeting in Darien, Illinois at the Speedway gas station off of Cass Ave and 75th street. We will be making a convoy of jeeps so, we can head to the Badlands safely. If you wish to join us on our convoy please be there at 5:30am to because we plan to leave the parking lot of Speedway by 6:15am to 6:30am. We plan to leave early because Indiana time is 1 hour ahead and the park opens at 9:00am that’s 8:00am Illinois time. This trip will be about 2 hours from Darien. We plan to be at the Badlands around 10:30am to 11:00am Indiana time. Please be on time if you wish to join us. We will be leaving the parking area as soon as we can & will not wait.

Note: We will be passing 2 tollways so, please have some change ready or you can use your IPass

Here's some directions to the Speedway gas station in Darien:
75th Street and Cass Ave

Coming from I55 East:
I55 head West to Cass Ave North
Cass Ave North: it will be about 2 miles to the Speedway on the Left
Do not pass 75th street

Coming from I55 West:
I55 head East to Cass Ave North
Cass Ave North: it will be about 2 miles to the Speedway on the Left
Do not pass 75th street

Coming from 355 North:
355 head South to 75th Street East
75th Street drive about 4 miles to Cass Ave
The Speedway will be on the Right side
Do not pass Cass Ave

Coming from 355 South:
355 head North to 75th Street East
75th Street drive about 4 miles to Cass Ave
The Speedway will be on the Right side
Do not pass Cass Ave

If possible: Please have a handheld walkie talkie or a CB we'll be on Chan 12
It will be nice if you have one of those so we can communicate with eachother.

Speedway Gas Station

I55 heading East to
294 South to 94
Exit 41 South
41 South is about 1 hour 1/2 til you get to the Attica Exit.

Do you think we should start to use some name tags so, everyone will know each others names. It's just an idea but, honestly it does help out. It's not fun when someone comes up to you and tells you their name and while we wheel together we'll for forget the persons name when we see them again. Tell me what you think...If so, I'll buy some name tags.

Here's a tip...I suggest to copy our list of jeepers who's going to go. If you have this list inside your jeep you will somewhat know whos who while we are on the trails. Also, leave room on the list so, you can write other names who are not on the list. I usually make a list for everyone but, This will help myself and everyone to have their own ahead of time. This will also help on the way to the Badlands if you will run a convoy and also will help coming home with a group. So, Please copy this list so, you will know who's who.

It's also nice to write down their JeepForum users name next to their name on the list.

That might make sense, especially when you don't know everybody (like me!).

I've often thought about something similar for the back of the Jeep for trail ID (perhaps just numbers, 1,2,3,...) as well, instead of saying "Hey, Red Jeep with the dog, something fell out when you hit that last rut!" or "Green JK, you're dragging a stick, or at least I hope it's a stick!" over the CB.
